This gorgeous mezuzah case is made of aluminum and handcrafted by the Israeli Judaica designer Ester Shahaf. Shahaf successfully combines modern style with traditional symbols. At the top of the Mezuzah appears the Hebrew letter Shin. The letter Shin stands for one of God's many sacred acronyms and for "Shomer Shomer Dlatot Israel", which means the protector of our gates. The text on the Mezuzah is taken from the Torah- it is the Jewish prayer "Shema Yisrael", beginning with the phrase: "Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is One".
